Locust Bean Gum (E410)

Locust Bean Gum is a natural compound extracted from the seeds of the carob tree (Ceratonia siliqua), a tree grown mainly in the Mediterranean regions. Our Locust Bean Gum comes from the Italian territory.

The seeds of the Locust Bean Gum, called carats, were used to weigh gold and precious gems in ancient times.

It is a common substitute for cocoa and available in different viscosities.

Applications:

Used as an additive, the Locust Bean Gum has a thickening, emulsifying, stabilizing and gelling function.
Locust Bean Gum is a food additive used in ice cream, sweets, confetti, baked goods and confectionery, but also in the textile and paper industries.
