A valuable, versatile, highly useful product
Gum Arabic (E414), is an ingredient which comes out in the form of a gummy exudate obtained by tapping the branches of 2 different species of acacia tree: Kordofan Senegal and Talha Seyal, that grow mainly in the Sudanese “Gum Belt.
The resin is obtained by special cuts made on the branches starting from the end of October and continuing in February and ending in April during the dry season. To “heal” the cuttings, a resinous liquid comes out of the branches in form of glistening tears drops that, in contact with air, begins to dry.
After harvesting, the tears of Gum Arabic are still soft and are left to be dried in the sun before sorting, and storaging. The gum is then sent by truck or rail to Port Sudan waiting to be shipped.

Locust Bean Gum is a natural compound extracted from the seeds of the carob tree (Ceratonia siliqua), a tree grown mainly in the Mediterranean regions. Our Locust Bean Gum comes from the Italian territory.
The seeds of the Locust Bean Gum, called carats, were used to weigh gold and precious gems in ancient times.
